SESSION OVERVIEW

A two hour information session for parents and professionals about toilet training that provides practical and accessible knowledge which minimized stress and leads to great outcomes

PRESENTATION CONTENT

Toilet Training Educators presents an evidence-based approach to toilet training.

Our approach recognises toileting as a skill to be learned and the toilet training continuum model identifies that there are 4 stages of learning and skill development in successful toilet training. Our presentation will take parents through the skill development stages and how to support a child to learn.

The sessions will cover:

• the research about toilet training including optimal time to start

• toilet training as a normal skill development process

• how to go about the process of toilet training

• what problems might be encountered along the way and dealing with them

• the difference between a toilet training issue and a continence problem

• continence issues including day wetting, constipation and soiling

• night wetting or bedwetting
* toilet training multiples.

Parents will be invited to ask questions throughout the presentation or at the end – depending upon the number of attendees.
