Weekend Coffee Catch Up - July

The North West Multiple Birth Club wishes to invite you to our March coffee morning. The details are as follows: Date - Sunday 7th July  Time - 10am to 12 noon Place - Essendon Playgroup (Sturt St Essendon) For those of you who have not attended previously, this event is a relaxed drop in session, with no RSVP required, and is open for all members to attend. It is a great opportunity for our newer members (expectant parents too), to come along and chat to other parents of multiples. Parents of multiples are always most happy to share some hints, tips, and a funny story or two about raising multiples! We are always happy to assist anyone needing an extra hand to get from your car into the playgroup (it is only a very short walk from the car park to the playgroup centre). There are microwave facilities for warming bottles etc, and a baby change room. We would love to make you a hot cuppa, so you can take a break and meet some other parents of multiples, and make some wonderful connections while doing this. There is also a lovely outdoor play area for older children to keep busy in the fresh air! We look forward to seeing you there!

Playgroup running each Friday during school term 10am-12pm (31/5-28/6 for term 2), $20/family per term, siblings and other caregivers welcome. Calling all volunteers!!    Please give back to our club by volunteering at our upcoming Bunnings BBQ. Select one or as many shifts as you can, and please add any comments if needed (ie. I can stay one hour past my allocated shift). Be sure to call on friends and family also, we’ll most certainly need their help,    We’re also looking for donations to make the event as profitable as possible. This may be your family’s way of helping out, dontating food items, or getting in touch with a local business contact who can make donations. We’ll be after the following items:    - sausages  - bread  - tomato, bbq, mustard sauce  - onions sliced  - cans of drink and bottled water  - napkins  - cleaning products: cloths/sponges, spray/detergent, paper towel, hand sanitiser, bin bags.  - loan of an electronic square reader  Thank you!  We're using a sign up app to help us organise times lots for the day. Come and join us as we celebrate the end of the year.   The event starts at 10am and there will be lots of fun and games for the kids which will be confirmed closer to the date.  A small present will be supplied for each child, please include your children's date of birth so we can provide a suitable present.  Please also include other siblings. Some food will be provided on the day, however please feel free to bring your own food.

Come along to meet and share the company of new parents just like you; parents of multiples!  Our helpful committee members will be there to lighten your load helping out with your babies/toddlers so you can enjoy a meal and a drink on us. Join the experts, the Toilet Training Educators, to learn everything you need to know about Toilet Training.    This online session is free for all club members, and is funded by the North West Multiple Birth Club. All registrations will receive the meeting link when they register below with go to webinar.  TO REGISTER:  Registrstion URL:  https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7450309913968696410   SESSION OVERVIEW A two hour information session for parents and professionals about toilet training that provides practical and accessible knowledge which minimized stress and leads to great outcomes   PRESENTATION CONTENT   Toilet Training Educators presents an evidence-based approach to toilet training.    Our approach recognises toileting as a skill to be learned and the toilet training continuum model identifies that there are 4 stages of learning and skill development in successful toilet training. Our presentation will take parents through the skill development stages and how to support a child to learn.    The sessions will cover: • the research about toilet training including optimal time to start • toilet training as a normal skill development process • how to go about the process of toilet training • what problems might be encountered along the way and dealing with them • the difference between a toilet training issue and a continence problem • continence issues including day wetting, constipation and soiling • night wetting or bedwetting * toilet training multiples.  Parents will be invited to ask questions throughout the presentation or at the end – depending upon the number of attendees.   PRESENTER All professional development and parent sessions are delivered by a Toilet Training Educator founder.  Anne is a continence expert and a regular presenter for many organisations including local government. A practicing maternal and child health nurse with more than 28 years experience, Anne is also a registered nurse, midwife, continence and bedwetting specialist, committed to positive evidenced based practice.Monica is an education specialist who has developed the toilet training continuum and META model bringing together the how children learn with development milestones and continence expertise.

This months Weekend Coffee Catch Up will have a simple Teddy Bears Picnic Theme for some added fun for the little ones.    Kids (and big kids!) can bring their favourite teddy or soft toy along for the fun. We'll have a mini picnic, possibly inside, and some fruit and fairy bread will be provided.  Some colouring, a story and a song will be offered too.
